DANCING AT THE PALISADES
VARIETY LINE DANCING
The McKeesport Palisades invites you to join the growing number of people who have discovered the fun and excitement of Variety Line Dancing. And it's more than just dancing...
This modern spin on the tradition country western line dancing presents a great opportunity to 'get out there and get moving' no matter who you are. Recognized as a form of low-impact aerobic exercise, this enjoyable activity can be a pleasing alternative to any fitness club or home gym. And unlike many other dance styles, line dancing does not require participants to have a partner. Therefore, it's perfect for singles!
Both novice and experienced dancers will have a blast dancing in unison to an eclectic mix of country hits from yesterday and today as well as chart-topping pop music favorites and energetic party anthems.
In between dances, guests can relax on the outdoor patio balcony overlooking the Youghiogheny River and the McKee's Point Marina. For those individuals in need of a quick 'pick-me-up', the Palisades bar and lounge area will be open to offer a variety of beverages and prepackaged snack items.
Don't know how to dance... No problem! The evening always starts with professional dance instructors Linda Francis and Krissie Brownlee offering step by step tutorials for select dances that have been scheduled for later in the evening. These lessons are included in the price of admission and begin at 7 PM.
Variety Line Dancing at the McKeesport Palisades is held on the first and third Friday of each month. Doors open at 7 PM with a one hour instructional session leading into the dance from 8 PM until 11:30 PM. Admission is only $8 per person. On site parking is free. BALLROOM DANCING
Throughout the year, a number of Pittsburgh area dance organization hold semi-annual events at the McKeesport Palisades. Among those who utilize the spacious wooden dance floor at the event center are groups like Pittsburgh Ballroom an the widely renown USA Dance.
